Abstract: Habitat availability measurements were recorded biannually along with electrofishing (different Project) starting in late summer 1991. Data was collected each spring and late summer from 1991-1998, in order to examine changes in fish assemblage structure along the habitat gradient.
Location(s), Described: CC2 - Ball Creek above weir - meter marks 780-890.
UBC - Upper Ball Creek - meter marks 2330-2430.
LBC - Lower Ball Creek - meter marks 4640-4747.
CC2 - Coweeta Creek - meter marks 5220-5320.

Methods/Experimental Design: See variable descriptions.
Sampling Frequency: None Available.
Data Columns: YEAR - year
MONTH - month
DAY - day
SITE - stream section (100m) sampled
    27L Ball Creek above weir 27 - approx. 100m above weir 27.
UBC Upper Ball Creek - approx. 100m above old weir 20.
LBC Lower BAll Creek - approx. 60m above weir 9
CC2 Coweeta Creek - starts at confluence of Ball Creek and Shope Fork
DIST_BTW - the distance measured (m) from the transect stake on the right bank to the corresponding transect stake on the left bank to nearest 0.1 meter)
TEANS - the site is marked along each bank in 5 m intervals - refers to meter mark starting at the downstream end of the site
DIST_LT - 1991 - 1997 = the measured distance along the transect line from the stake along the left bank to the wetted width on the left bank to nearest 0.1 meter
1997- present - the measured distance along the transect line for a given transect from the right bank stake to the wetted width on the left bank to nearest 0.1 meter
DIST_RT - the measured distance along the transect line for a given transect from the right bank stake to the wetted width on the right bank to nearest 0.1 meter)
METER_MK - whole meter mark points along transect line where samples are taken starting from right bank stake. Habitat availability estimates are done along this line recording the meter mark where the sample is made
DEPTH - measured with a meter stick to nearest cm
CUR_VEL - average current velocity measured in cm/s with a Marsh McBirney 201 flow meter
%BEDROCK - the estimated % of bedrock (Imbedded rock) made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%SAND - the estimated % of sand (material < 0.2 cm) made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%SILT - the estimated % of silt (Material capable of suspension in water column) made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%BOULDER - the estimated % of boulder (> = 30cm) made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%COBBLE - the estimated % of cobble (< 30 cm and > 2.5 cm) made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%DEBRIS - the estimated % of debris (Wood or leafy matter)made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
%GRAVEL - the estimated % of gravel (< 2.5 cm and > 0.2 cm)made by a trained observer using a 20 x 20 cm viewer directly above the sample location
H2O_TEMP - water temperature in C degrees.
EXP_FLAG - From 1991 to 1993, if sample point lands on exposed substrate within the stream the point if classified as EXP.
From 1994 to 1998, if sample point is outside stream wetted width or lands on exposed substrate within the stream the point if classified as to the majority substrate or composite substrate there. Substrate codes are first 2 letters of substrate category
BE - exposed bedrock
SA - exposed sand
SI - exposed silt
BO - exposed bould
CO - exposed cobble
DE - exposed debris
GR - exposed gravel
BANK - Outside bank full area
ISLAND - Island area in UBC site
