Abstract: Trees for this project were banded with aluminum bands and growth increment markers to accurately measure tree growth at multiple times during the year. Trees were located on each of the five terrestrial gradient plots. Tree species, initial diameter, and subsequent calculated diameters are included for each tree.

Comment Codes:
1 - dead tree
2 - not read (tree not found or band needs scale extended)
3 - band missing
4 - replacement tree for dead tree
5 - extended scale

Sampling Frequency: Monthly between March and November.
Data Columns: Site - site number (see Locations, Describe above)
Tree ID # - tree identification number
Tree Sp. - tree species, defined in Methods/Experimental Design
Initial Year - year tree was initially banded
Initial Month - month tree was initially banded
Initial Day - day tree was initially banded
Initial DBH - initial tree diameter at breast height (DBH); centimeters
calc DBH + date - subsequent calculated tree diameter at breast height readings; inches-circumference
DIFF + (calc-meas) - difference between calculated and measured DBH on 12/3/2001; inches-circumference

All trees were banded at an initial reading of 0.10 inches. All calculated DBH values include that measurement.
