Methods/Experimental Design: Each of the 5 gradient plots were instrumented with 10.92 x .92 m2 collectors. All leaf samples were air-dried in the lab and weighed. 10 samples were randomly selected, oven-dried and then weighed for oven-dry weight.
Sampling Frequency: Approximately monthly, but no July 1996, 3 in October 1996, 2 in November 1996, no January or February 1997, no April or May 1997, no July 1997, 3 in October 1997, 2 in November 1997, then no collection until May 12, 1998.
